God is at the centre of our lives and as a schoolcommunity we try to grow in love and care byfollowing the example of Jesus.
Sacraments
Confirmation
Children in Year 6 are prepared in school to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, following the new diocesan programme. Confirmation mass takes place each academic year, with the sacrament being conferred by Bishop Timothy Menezes who also visits school on the day of Confirmation to discuss this with the children and to give them the opportunity to ask him questions about his special role.
Reconciliation and the Eucharist
Children in Year 3 are prepared in school to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Sacrament of the Eucharist, following the new diocesan programme. Commitment masses for the children who are receiving these sacraments are held in the Autumn and Spring terms of each year.
We have also had a number of children who have made the decision to be received into the church and receive the sacraments of baptism prior to being prepared for the other three sacraments. We are incredibly privileged to share in their faith journey in this special way - with staff having recently been invited to share in one faith journey as the child’s godparents.
