Garden "Art" Club NEED your help. We require hundreds of plastic bottle tops from milk cartons, squash & pop bottles (washed please) to make some outdoor art.
We would be grateful if you could start collecting them now & send them into school on a weekly basis.
The class teacher will take them from the children and pass them on to Mrs Jones/Mrs Platt.
We would also like to construct our own compost heaps & potato planters so if you have any family/friend connections that are able to donate pallets & used tyres please encourage them to speak with Mrs Yates or Mrs Wills in the school office.
Thank you in advance for your help!

Farlea Childcare at St Mary's Catholic Primary School
Farlea Childcare operate before and after school clubs as well as wrap around care at St Mary's Catholic Primary School and nursery. Further details are shown below:-
What we do
Farlea Childcare (St. Mary’s) is situated in the nursery unit of St. Mary’s School, however the breakfast session is held in the school hall, which can be accessed via the school playground. We are open from 7.30am to school start and 11.45am to 6.00pm. As well as offering before and after school childcare, we offer wraparound care for the nursery children. We can also provide care throughout all school holidays (except Christmas) at our setting at Bridgtown Primary School. Please see your Manager for more details.
Breakfast session: Our breakfast session starts at 7.30am with breakfast served until 8.30am. During this session your child can join in with a range of age appropriate activities, both indoors and outdoors in a safe and secure environment. At the appropriate time your child is directly from the hall into their classroom.
After School session: We ensure the safe collection of each child by following our structured procedure. Children are collected by childcare practitioners who are known to both the school and your child. Once everyone is accounted for we return to the setting. On return the children are offered a drink and a snack. They can then choose from a range of age appropriate activities in a safe and secure environment.
Our Nursery (EEF and Wraparound)
If your child attends morning school nursery, you can drop your child off at our breakfast session from 7.30am, where they can enjoy their breakfast before we take them to their nursery sessions. We can then collect them at the end of their nursery session where they can come back to our nursery for their lunch with their friends and interact with a range of learning and development materials both in our indoor and outdoor learning environment which are either child-initiated or adult-focused that ensure their ongoing development in a happy, engaging and secure environment.
We provide Early Education Funded (EEF) places from 12.15pm-3.15pm during term time. These sessions are available for children from the term after their third birthday and are provided to prepare your child for starting school. We also offer Think 2 places from 12.15pm - 3.15pm during term time, these places are only available for parents that meet the Staffordshire County Council criteria; for more information and to apply please visit:
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) delivered through the Development Matters program. This program supports our childcare practitioners in the planning of activities to ensure the needs of every individual child are met. Your child will be designated a key person who will assess your child’s learning and development needs by observing them on a daily basis and planning for their future ‘Next Steps’. For more information relating to the EYFS please visit www.foundationyears.org.uk/eyfs-statutory-framework/
We realise that for some children the nursery day can be tiring for this reason we have a quiet area where your child can sleep or have a quiet five minutes during their day. Children can participate in nursery regardless of their toileting needs. We see toilet-training as a self-care skill that children have the opportunity to learn with the full support and non-judgemental concern of adults. We work with parents towards toilet training their children.
What to do next
For more information or to book a space please call or visit the setting and speak to the Manager who will be happy to discuss your needs and begin the enrolment process.
We aim to meet all the needs of parents and so try to be as flexible as possible with the hours we offer. You can book a permanent space on the days of your choice or you may use the facility on an occasional basis, even last minute, however we cannot guarantee a space, but we will do our best!
To save you time our registration forms can be downloaded by visiting website_registration_forms.doc Prior to completing the registration forms please read our Privacy Notice which detail why, how and where we collect, use and store the personal data you provide us with privacy_notice_gdpr.doc
We are registered and inspected by Ofsted, to read our latest inspection report please visit reports.ofsted.gov.uk/inspection-reports/find-inspection-report/provider/CARE/EY386044

Parking Outside of School
We Will Remember
Our school community held a 2 minute silence at Mass this morning on Remembrance Sunday.
We love our library!
Our library is really well looked after, thanks to the efforts of Mrs Harris and Mrs Richardson. We would like to see parents use this lovely area after school. Come in, choose a book and share with your child. Of course, children need to be accompanied by a parent.
Supporting Cannock Foodbank
Thanks to all our families who contributed to the Cannock Foodbank at the recent Harvest Assembly. Well done!
Congratulations Coni - Ryu Shokotan British Champion!
Coni won the Banzai Cup U10 female kata in Berlin without dropping a flag in her first competition abroad. We are very proud of her!
We Are Saving Paper
We are going to make more use of our technology and cut down on the paper we send out of school. Sometimes letters stay in children's bags and key messages can be lost. Please check your text messages and emails regularly and make sure that any change of detail is notified to the school. We will trial this until the end of the Summer Term. Parents who require a printed letter can request this from the school office. Thank you.
May Procession - This Friday
We ask that children can bring in flowers as is usual. However this time, any bedding plants would also be welcomed which we will use to adorn the statue of Mary within the school grounds. Thank you.
Our Y1 children know the rules! Lots of activity in school teaching safety rules.
One piece of advice to parents - please regulate the amount of time your child may spend on a computer at night and certainly discourage this before bed time!
